Do you desire a deeper connection
with Jesus Christ?
Then enter our Center!
Fr. Frank’s ministerial background includes teaching; over 30 years working in parish ministry,
developing and programming retreats and conferences, parish missions . . .
He is especially interested in working with people suffering chronic illnesses, those suffering losses of any kind,
people in relationship and anyone interested in developing his or her faith/prayer life through the
ministries offered at OUR LADY OF MERCY PASTORAL CENTER.
OLMPCenter remains a unique place of respite and retreat where people can meet a wide range of individual needs for spiritual growth and development in all aspects of their lives; relationships, family, friends, school, work, where we pray and how to pray. People come to learn, discuss faith
and the issues of the day or engage in prayer as they experience "holy ground".
Our expanded programs serve a wide range of individuals and groups seeking spiritual growth. We
provide programs and retreats for students (from local colleges and universities in Kentuckiana), adults,
men's groups, women's groups, groups of families, senior citizens, those seeking holistic healing,
married couples, and others who wish to come to "holy ground".
YOU ARE INVITED
There is plenty of excitement around OLOMPCenter. Its powerful visual statement energizes the quality of
programming and implementation we are undertaking for the future. OLOMPCenter provides a dramatic yet
simple sketch of how Our Lord touches our very lives by entering into his presence.
Please read the information on the site about AT THE WATER’S EDGE MINISTRY: THE STORY
on this site. This will give you a greater insight into Fr. Frank's ministry of prayer for healing
that has touched so many over the last 25 years.
Do you desire a deeper connection with Jesus Christ?
Do you long for more integration of your Christian faith in everyday life? Consider participating
in a small group at one of our many conferences moving through the Spiritual journeys and
encounters with Christ in a reflective retreat type setting.
Opening yourself to listening for the Holy Spirit requires commitment.
Personal biases, convictions or fears can make this a difficult task. The discernment process
is designed to help us overcome blocks to the Holy Spirit in our life.
In the workshop experiences and conferences offered at OLOMPCenter, you will have the
opportunity to work independently on your challenge with a series of guided meditations
from Fr. Frank (depending on the particular conferences/retreats) who will meet frequently
with each individual during the retreats/conferences (if desired) to provide support
and spiritual guidance. (Go to "RETREATS" in top menu bar for information).
From this you will be able to apply this discernment process to future challenges in your life.
There will be time for individual Reconciliation (Sacrament of Confession) during all of
our retreats or days of reflection and prayer.

re in common and all are encouraged to respect a “spirit of silence” throughout the weekend, so this does not
disrupt the retreatant’s silence of the weekend. Sometimes, of course, the group attending the retreat, the
particular setting, etc, does not make this much silence practical or desirable, in which case the silence is
adapted to fit the group.
Note on the Liturgy
The suggested time for liturgy will be posted at the retreat. If the schedule of the retreat has a set time for the

IT IS TIME TO CALL UPON THE LORD!
We read about Scripture characters in the word of God – maybe we
have thought about them at different times - about Daniel, who three times a day (and he was locked up for it) - three times a day he called upon God. David said, 'Evening, morning and afternoon will I cry aloud and He will hear my voice'. Listen to the Lord's words, for I believe they're our words - they are for us, we are living in a generation of apathy, in a generation of unconcern and little, if not absolute prayerlessness. Listen, it is His voice – our Lord’svoice to you - 'Could you not watch one hour?'
Can you imagine what would happen if you just, made a covenant (a pact) with God, that you would not pass through
a sunset tonight or a sun-rising tomorrow unless you had spent one hour with God in prayer for the family; for yourself;
for your community. Can you imagine what could happen? Not what could happen, but what would happen!
In Ecclesiastes 3 and verse 1: 'To everything there is a season'.
There is [an] appointed season for many things, a time to every purpose under
heaven - and you know the list that the writer goes through-- a time to die, a
time to live, so many times and so many things for time. But there is a time for
this and a time for that and within the life of our community and a personally
there is time for many things, even time to preach - but now, I believe, is the
time to pray. But how you ask? For the spirit is willing - I want to pray,
I want to do these great exploits for God because I know my God in prayer.
I want all these things, my spirit is willing but my flesh is weak!
TEACH ME TO PRAY was what Jesus’ disciples asked of him.
What do you ask?
Listening to the Word of God in Scripture
Listening to the word of God in Scripture (Lectio Divina) is a
traditional way of cultivating friendship with Christ. It is a way of listening
to the texts of Scripture as if we were in conversation with Christ and He was
suggesting the topics of conversation. The daily encounter with Christ and
reflection on His word leads beyond mere acquaintanceship to an attitude of
friendship, trust, and love. Conversation simplifies and gives way to communing.
Gregory the Great (6th century) in summarizing the Christian contemplative
tradition expressed it as “resting in God.” This was the classical meaning of
Contemplative Prayer in the Christian tradition for the first sixteen centuries.
First of all, we need to be still.
Quiet ourselves down the hectic day. BEING STILL IN HIS PRESENCE is based
on the wisdom saying of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount: “...But when you pray,
go to your inner room, close the door and pray to your Father in secret. And your
Father, who sees in secret, will repay you.” Matthew 6.6 (New American Bible)

Just what are you looking for today; for yourself? I know your days
are made up of alarm clocks, rush hours, long drives to work, the hustle of the
day, the return home, the rush to eat dinner and the settling into evening
relaxation; off to bed and it all begins again the next morning. You need a
break. Come along with others to OLOMPC and relax in the arms of the Lord.
